Sweet Shot: homemade love

This surprise was waiting for me when I walked into my room Saturday night.

The rose is from the backyard and the little magenta flower is from the front flower bed. I'm glad my boys are learning to be resourceful!

I had to make MANY promises to not open them until the next morning- Mother's Day!

I wouldn't trade being a mommy for anything in the whole wide world. And I hope that the sweet cards continue to be homemade long after they have jobs and money to buy cards from the store. :)

I am linking this up with Darcy's Sweet Shot Tuesday.

:) I counted my sofas as my gifts, and enjoyed my hubby's bbq chicken!

Homemade is the BEST! right from the heart:) and it makes them feel so special to know their work is cherished, I hope it never ends too. Thanks for sharing.

That's so sweet that they did it all themselves! And it is really quite smart to use flowers from your garden, he was sure that you would enjoy them.

I agree!!! I tell my kids that I always prefer a present that's homemade over something that's storebought - which is why we invest a large portion of our income in construction paper!

You're right, the homemade stuff from the heart is the best. The hard part is trying to figure out what special creations to save and which ones to let go ...

I love the homemade cards the best too. I hope they never stop as well. My daughter has gotten more tech savvy and made me a homemade card from the computer. It was still just as sweet. We are blessed aren't we?!

Just to give you a little hope, check out this Mother's Day drawing my brother (age 28) made for our mom this year: http://ryan-a.tumblr.com/post/585609752/a-sappy-picture-for-my-mom-on-mothers-day-thanks

Seriously, made me just cry and cry. I thought of how blessed I would be if one of my kids made something so heartfelt for me at the age of 28.

Ashley! That was the sweetest card EVER! :sniff: Nothing like sappy to make a mommy all teary-eyed. And his illustrations-- WOW. Very talented!
