This is set to the theme of "The Night Before Christmas"
I am not the author of this poem (although I wish I was clever enough to be!)-- it's from an e-mail that my aunt sent me...
Note: The Sears I shop at has already posted signs that boldly read MERRY CHRISTMAS on all of the entry doors to their store...which makes me happy b/c we LOVE Craftsman tools!
How the "Left" Stole Christmas
'Twas, the month before Christmas
When all through our land,
not a Christian was praying
Nor taking a stand.
See the PC Police had taken away,
The reason for Christmas - no one could say.
The children were told by their schools not to sing,
About Shepherds and Wise Men and Angels and things.
It might hurt people's feelings, the teachers would say
December 25th is just a "Holiday".
Yet the shoppers were ready with cash, checks and credit
Pushing folks down to the floor just to get it!
CDs from Madonna, an X BOX, an I-pod
Something was changing, something quite odd!
Retailers promoted Ramadan and Kwanzaa
In hopes to sell books by Franken & Fonda.
As Targets were hanging their trees upside down
At Lowe's the word Christmas - was no where to be found.
At K-Mart and Staples and Penny's and Sears
You won't hear the word Christmas; it won't touch your ears.
Inclusive, sensitive,
Di-ver-si-ty
Are words that were used to intimidate me.
Now Daschle, Now Darden, Now Sharpton, Wolf Blitzen
On Boxer, On Rather, on Kerry, on Clinton!
At the top of the Senate, there arose such a clatter
To eliminate Jesus, in all public matter.
And we spoke not a word, as they took away our faith
Forbidden to speak of salvation and grace.
The true Gift of Christmas was exchanged and discarded
The reason for the season, stopped before it started.
So as you celebrate "Winter Break" under your "Dream Tree"
Sipping your Starbucks, listen to me.
Choose your words carefully, choose what you say
Shout MERRY CHRISTMAS, not Happy Holiday!

I hadn't seen this before; i really like this.
Very clever! I look at it like "The Grinch Who Stole Christmas". They can pass all the laws and policies they want, but they can never wipe out Christmas in our hearts. As Paul said, "...against such things there is no law". (Gal. 5:23)
Merry Christmas, Marsha!
Love Lisa
Wow! That's great!!
How sad our world is becoming!! They want to take Jesus/God out of everything. I was thinking about this just today. I (we christians) need to take more of a stand against these things. Thanks for posting!!

Thank you for visiting my blog and praying for my friend who is fighting her accident injuries. I love this poem - truly says it like it is. I went into a bulk mail facility yesterday and they actually had a creche set up on the counter with beautiful figurines. Plus, nativity window clings on the doors! Couldn't believe it. Perhaps poems like this making their way around the Internet will help people see the importance of keeping Him as the focus!
A blessed Christmas,
Michelle
That's really great!

PS~ I wrote a poem once, maybe one day I'll be brave enough to share it with you (by e-mail of course)
oh Amber, share the poem with us. Please? This was a good poem. I went to Walmart and the clerk said Happy Holiday and I said Merry Christmas back to her and she said "you too". I smiled as I know she wanted to say it and she did without saying it. I noticed that when I say Merry Christmas to people their eyes light up and they say it in return. They look at me as if I've given them a gift. Honestly I think people are afraid to say it anymore. Society has gotten people so PC crazy that people are afraid if they aren't PC. Well, Marsha, MERRY CHRISTMAS my blogger friend. I can't wait to hear how the earings go over with you sis. I've made alot of jewelry since then, 3 pairs of earings, 3 necklaces, and a bracelet.

This is great! Thanks for sharing this. I haven't been to our Sears for about a week - I'll have to check out and see if they have signs up that say "Merry Christmas". I shopped at Safeway today and they said "Merry Christmas" to me when I left. Nice! Thank you for your wonderful thoughts and prayers, Marsha! One of the things I'm thanking God for this year is your friendship! (((HUGS))) So glad he blessed me with knowing you!!!
Merry Christmas! I love going downtown and seeing the stores that have Merry Christmas written all over the windows! Then there are those that only have happy holidays. Great poem, thanks for sharing it!
Blessings!
...is that the term I want?! Anyway, just wanted to post and say that our WalMart plays Away in a Manger and Go Tell It on the Mountain... and the other night, every employee but one (he was at the McD's in W-M) said Merry Christmas when I said it to them!
