Okay, not much is completely made from scratch at my house...so this version of banana pudding is no exception...it's no-cook and as close to homemade as we're gonna get around here. But it is the best that I've ever tasted and got rave reviews when 3 pans of it disappeared at my sis' baby shower (it's that good).
INGREDIENTS:
- 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese
- 1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
- 1 (5 ounce) package instant vanilla pudding mix
- 3 cups cold milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 (8 ounce) container frozen whipped topping, thawed
- 4 bananas, sliced
- 1/2 (12 ounce) package vanilla wafers
DIRECTIONS:
1. In a large bowl, beat cream cheese until fluffy. Beat in condensed milk, pudding mix, cold milk and vanilla until smooth. Fold in 1/2 of the whipped topping.
2. Line the bottom of a 9x13 dish with vanilla wafers. Arrange sliced bananas evenly over wafers. Spread with pudding mixture. Top with remaining whipped topping. Chill for 3 hours.
Serves 12.
Oh and our variation around this house is to (gasp!) omit the bananas...so I guess this is just really really delicious pudding. What can I say? Not only do bananas make me very itchy, but if you leave them in the pudding for too long they turn brown and icky...but we still CALL it banana pudding.

This recipe sounds delicious! I will omit the bananas too. I loved bananas until I became pregnant with my dd. Bananas were the only thing that made me queasy. I can't even smell them to this day without my stomach turning. I will pick up the ingredients at the store tomorrow and make it for dessert this weekend. Thanks for sharing!
I accidentally posted it on the tag section. Oops. I'm new to this. Can you tell? :)
I was saying how yummy that pudding is and I wish I had some now. I especially liked it when I was pregnant.
Love ya.
Thank you so much for sharing this recipe! I made it for dessert tonight and it was a HUGE hit!! I left out the bananas on my end and thoroughly enjoyed myself too! Thanks again!
I'm getting my shopping list together for tomorrow's Red River Shoot-out game between OU and TX and I am adding this to the list. Sounds delicious and my dh LOVES banana pudding. I think I will surprise him!

And I'm a traditionalist when it comes to banana pudding - cooked pudding, nilla wafers and meringue topping (and I put the bananas in it! lol). But your recipe sounds yummy with the cream cheese and sweetened condensed milk - how could it not be good? Thanks for sharing!
Marsha,
You are a STINKER!!! LOL :-P

Sounds great. Next time I'm looking for a dessert for the family this is the one I'll make.
I hope you know I wasn't saying video games are inherently evil or anything. It just wasn't working for our family. And as my boys have gotten older, 20 minutes of playing time just wasn't enough to get anywhere on the games with the multitudes of levels, etc. And those longer times were adversely effecting one of the boys especially. I think having a way to unwind is a good thing, and if it's video games for your hard-working man then that's fine! Hey - I like the yard sale website you posted earlier. I'd love to see one in my town!
